Recently I had an opportunity to travel to Chennai. I had been to this metropolitan city years back when it was still called Madras. It took us about 6 hours to reach Chennai. The weather was extremely hot and we were in a hotel near the beach. The first thing we did next morning was to go to the sea shore and experience the sunrise.
As we were walking on the seashore, we saw a group of kids aged from 6 to 8 having fun and eating something. These kids were daring, free and less supervised. They were not certainly the kind of kids that we find in our neighborhood whose every need is met by over protective parents. So we decided to have an interaction with them. The kids surprised us! They woke up as early as 6 AM in the morning, and came to the sea shore, brought the Cockles, fried in the fire, and on the middle of the road breaking and eating them.
How differently a child can evolve, if we let them! Full of potentials waiting to be expressed! What I found in these kids is a great sense of leadership and courage which eventually help them to grow and define their future. My thoughts went back to my childhood and with it a sense of gratitude too.
